How do I delete the "Get Mp3" link on the posting?

I am a sixth grade teacher and the audio that I am posting is of my kids. While there is no personally identifiable information, I want to prevent open distribution of the content. While I recognize that someone could still record through the flash, that's a little beyond these kids.

This will help my kids stay safe!

So my question is, How do I delete that link? I have searched the forums for most of the day now and looked through everything I could find.

Thanks for the help!

Re: How do I delete the "Get Mp3" link on the posting?

This is not straightforward. If you have access to the template on your Loudblog site, you can edit the template (on Wordpad, as a text only file) by deleting the line which says something like:

Code:

<p><lb:link_audio>Download <lb:audiotype /></lb:link_audio> (<lb:audiolength />min, <lb:audiosize />MB)</p>

This will remove the link to the mp3 file from your site, for all postings (not just the one you mention in your question). But be aware that the RSS feed from your site will still contain links to the audio files and that people will still be able to download the file from the feed.

The way I look at it, if you can figure out how to get the feed, you can have the file. I just want to prevent random web downloads of the mp3. This will keep 98% of my young students from getting and distributing the content.

THANK YOU!!

Re: How do I delete the "Get Mp3" link on the posting?

this is a very interesting issue.
from my side, I'd like (I need) one more option here.
I need the play feature available for all, guests and registered users as one, and the download option only for registered users.
if it helps, I can feed users from joomla database (from a joomla installation "mounted" on a giant moodle site)...
what do you say? is that possible? and hoping yes: how? :-)
thanx once more,
